Back in March we reported on the first activation between Real Madrid and Skype, where 12 lucky football fans got the chance to quiz “Galácticos” Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Chicharito over Skype.
The event, which took place on March 12, 2015 at the famous Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, was dubbed into English (with native Spanish audio) and streamed live to an audience of thousands — so the pressure really was on to deliver a flawless production.
Any television producer or engineer worth their salt is aware of the meticulous workflow planning, teamwork and complex technical execution involved in such a production — and that’s where Skype TX and Riedel stepped in.
Using Riedel’s STX-200, the Skype in Media production team were able to manage the 12 lucky winners’ calls across 10 locations, including 10 calls in HD quality — here’s how it worked:
